We are always pleased to welcome new members to our Society. Whether you are interested in getting into the wonderful world of old type printing for the first time, or have a background in printing, we will welcome you very warmly.
Why become a member?
There are many benefits in becoming a member
- access to our wide arrange of printing presses and related equipment
- access to use the printing materials and equipment in the Printery like ink, paper, tools (a gold coin fee per visit helps with our costs)
- help from our knowledgeable, helpful tutors. Want to make your own business cards, wedding cards or special project? We can help you create something really special.
- We have a wide range of books, DVDs, magazines and other material on printing, manuals on presses and other very important reference material. We have physical copies of early copies of the Lyttelton Times as well as nearly every edition up to the 1980s on microfiche. These are all available to members.
- when we run workshops and special events, these are offered at significantly reduced rates for members
- you get to work with other like minded people at the likes of our Tuesday Twilight Print Groups who help and support each other in a very cooperative, friendly environment with tutors available to help you for free!
